ULTRA 2014 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: ALEC MONOPOLY
Alec Monopoly. You may not have seen his face, but you’ve certainly seen his art. The unidentified graffiti artist originally hailing from New York City, has left his mark on cities around the world, using stencils, spray paint, epoxies, varnishes, and newspapers to craft his signature Monopoly imagery and depictions of other iconic pop culture characters.
Alec Monopoly’s work has been covered by the likes of Rolling Stone, Complex Magazine, Billboard, The Huffington Post, and more, as his art has reached the urban environments of Europe, Asia, Los Angeles, and of course Miami. In 2013, he teamed up with Avicii to bring his “Avicii x Alec Monopoly” collaboration to Sundance, The Grammy’s, and the Las Vegas MAGIC Conference, and his work was featured prominently at this year’s Art Basel festival.
Now he prepares to take his talents to Ultra Music Festival to create a unique piece of art using the World’s Premier Electronic Music Festival as his canvas. So be sure to check out Alec Monopoly in action at Ultra 2014!
